Design of a 'funnel machine' for architrave GmbH
To create a high-performance conversion website, the AI was asked to transform the existing “product brochure” type website into a “funnel machine.” Since the AI was not yet trusted with the design, I was given the opportunity to create the bold concept of “more emotional, less technical.”The result was a clearly structured OnePager with consistent funnel detail pages for all architrave products, in strict compliance with the AI specifications. I built the website in WordPress and fully optimised it for SEO/SEA. Various campaigns are currently being run to test whether the funnel machine actually works as claimed by the AI. As a gamification element, the “product pills” from the existing corporate design were converted into a tabs navigation, which provides the all-important “joy of use” when clicking through the individual products. As so often, the final look only emerged during the technical implementation, specifically when it came to implementation on smartphones.

Sourcengine
Conception and Information Architecture of the ‚Sourcengine‘.
Sourceengine is a global marketplace for electronic components allowing over one billion articles to be compared, bought and sold based on their technical data, availability, (bulk-) prices and delivery dates.A common challenge in 2017 was to 'wireframe' the backend of the entire platform in addition to the customer frontend and the customer portal. The backend is essential for the administration of all entities in the application, the creation of quotes and the global distribution of components. After a detailed competitor analysis, as USP a new interface (the 'Sourceengine') was designed, which displays the relationship between availability, delivery time and price in a comprehensible matrix. Another sophisticated feature is the “BoM tool” (meanwhile “Quotengine”), which can be used to upload BOMs (bills of materials) and convert them into quotes within seconds using real-time data. This feature can also be used for the sale of surplus (excess) and therefore maps the entire sourcing process of the manufacturers.

Hogrefe
E-commerce UX optimization Hogrefe-Verlag is doing it the perfect way: while the store is in full operation, the UX of all components is constantly being optimized. The product detail pages, the checkout process and the customer backend were improved in separate projects. A competitor analysis was performed initially to define best practices. Subsequently, these were matched with the very broad range of scientific products (tests, procedures, books, e-books, seminars, webinars, etc.). The 'mobile first' concept was applied rigorously: further resolutions were not designed until all functions and designs had been approved for the smartphone resolution. “Little” details such as the wording, the position of error messages or the question of whether and how unrestricted the user can interact within the checkout make significant differences to the UX. As a consequence, additional content could be added at larger resolutions. Mobile paradigms - such as the avoidance of dropdowns in favor of touch buttons - were implemented for all resolutions.

New online representation of the “Social Entrepreneurship Network Germany”
The association, which emerged out of the Bundesverband Deutsche Startups e.V. in June 2017, acts as a lobby for all “social startups” that aim to solve societal challenges in the social or ecological field.High priority was assigned to the online presentation of the “network”, a database with all 800 network members, supporting members and regional associations, which can be filtered by area of impact, sector and federal state. We also focused on the simple edition and development of the various content types and their modular ''crosslinking'' within the website, so that suitable members, projects, testimonials, magazine articles, social media tiles, etc. can be included on each page for more in-depth information. The design is built on modules of a geometric-surface pattern based on the association's logo. In the header area of individual pages, thematically matching images can be integrated, with the geometric shape remaining recognizable thanks to a slight color overlay.

SWISS KRONO
Global corporate websiteCreation of a unique online presentation for the SWISS KRONO Group, one of the largest manufacturers of wood-based materials in the world. The aim of the relaunch was to establish a modular design system that integrates all national units with their different websites into the new corporate brand. Initially, a new presentation format was created for the SWISS-Krono product range that presents the modular composition of the 'Interiors', 'Flooring' and 'Building Materials' products in a comprehensible and configurable way for B2B customers. From the very beginning, the design was developed in a way that allowed the national companies to individually implement their different product ranges with the help of variable modules. The creation of the content and design of nine new websites for all production sites and the 'SWISS KRONO Group' was part of the project scope. A comprehensive style guide describes the coherent, consistent design of all modules/page types and is the foundation for further, independent editorial maintenance of the websites.

Propstack
Design and Concept for App, Customer Portal and CRM Propstack is a cloud-based property management software with comprehensive real estate marketing functionality. Back in 2012, I was involved in the development of a preliminary version of the platform, which has since become the leading real estate CRM in the DACH region. In 2023, Propstack was released as an app for the first time. The primary goal was to extract the really relevant functions from the software's immense range of features and make them simple and intuitive for brokers 'on the go'. As usual with native apps, the interface had to find a common language for the habits of iOS and Android users. Within the actual CRM, new features were constantly being conceptualized and designed, some of them of high complexity: bulk imports, a Kanban view of the 'deal pipeline', or form builders and automations for the customer-specific expansion of the application functionality. Properties are maintained centrally in Propstack and exported to all common portals via interfaces. In the “Customer Portal”, real estate companies can provide their customers websites under their company label. This enables them to create their own properties and searches and thus manage the entire “life cycle” of the property.

COREPEL
Design of a product microsite for SWISS KRONO Tec AG Corepel is a new collection of particularly durable- and water-resistant decorative flooring. The challenge was to present these 'invisible' characteristics in a 'bold' way for trade visitors and consumers - based on a branding developed for print by Martin et Karczinski.
